On May 26-28, 2015 a Marine Oil Spill Training Course was successfully conducted at Jeddah. The course included 27 participants from various Saudi Aramco organizations, local Government authorities (Navy, SWCC, SEAPA & PME) and member oil companies (Qatar Petroleum & ADNOC) of the Regional Clean Sea Organization (RECSO), for the first time.
The training included two day theoretical lectures followed by a one day hands-on exercise where participants had the opportunity to deploy Pollution Control Equipment onboard the Marine Pollution Control Vessel “Midyan”. Also, the aerial chemical dispersant aircraft, the Air Tractor, participated in this exercise. Participants were impressed with Saudi Aramco, Marine Department, capabilities and commended the arrangement and conduct of the course. Thanks and appreciation to all those who supported this activity from GOSRD and MODWR.
